Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Bedford public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Residential Traffic Barricades
Several residents from Wimbledon Drive voiced strong opposition to the city's plan to install a large Type 3 industrial barricade at the end of their dead-end street. Residents argued the structure hurts property values, looks industrial, and requested less intrusive MUTCD-compliant alternatives.
Traffic Enforcement
Bedford is looking for loopholes to keep red light cameras running even if Texas passes a statewide ban. This means you might still get hit with fines for rolling turns or running lights at major intersections across the city.
Police Leadership Transition
Bedford’s police chief is heading out this Wednesday, leaving a major vacancy at the top of the department. The city is now kicking off the search for a new leader to steer local law enforcement moving forward.
