Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Bedford public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Home Daycare Zoning Ban
Bedford's local zoning laws are blocking a state-approved home daycare from opening its doors. If you're a parent hunting for local childcare, outdated city rules are making it even harder to find a spot.
Property Maintenance Compliance
Bedford's giving property owners a break on code violations, pushing back fines to give folks more time to fix up their rundown properties. Instead of slamming people with immediate penalties, the city is opting for a more lenient approach to cleanup.
Local Leadership
Bedford just elected its youngest mayor ever, a guy who’s juggling his day job as a teacher with running City Hall. It’s a major shift in leadership that could bring some much-needed new energy and different priorities to our local government.
